Twitter hashtag helps scrambling brides after Alfred Angelo closures
After bridal retailer Alfred Angelo’s permanent closing Thursday, brides are left in a clutch to either hope they receive their orders, or find a dress somewhere else. The retailer had 60 locations, including one on Dublin-Granville Road.
On Twitter, the hashtag #DressMatchmaker started trending for brides who may be out of luck from the retailer. Women and bridal stores across the country are posting pictures of their wedding or bridesmaid dresses, sizes and the request to direct message them for more information to possibly lend or even donate the dress. Brides can also find examples of the swap under the hashtag #alfredangelo.
The company posted on their website for customers to check on their orders with Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustee, Margaret Smith, at email@example.com. The company filed for bankruptcy last week in Florida, owing creditors between $50 million and $100 million.
